Camden House & Filming Set CAMDEN HOUSE & FILMING SET:
The 7th Heaven set is a closed set. The scenes are filmed in sound stages. The beautiful Camden home is both a real & fake house. In Altadena, California exists the real one. The owner allowed the producers to take extreme photographs of the exterior to use for the outside scenes of the house on the show. From the minds & talented ideas, the producers built 3 walls each to visually fit the bedrooms, living room, dining room and kitchen for more camera shooting space and to beable to position their cameras exactly where they need them, this gives them the opportunity to shoot from basically any angle. Where the 4th wall would normally go,  they instead place their camera's there for shooting space, 'open' and 'clear' shots are a result of having the extra room to moveabout. In Santa Monica, California where the 'soundstage' is set up, going around is several trailers for the cast & crew to use during work breaks. Each one contains a radio, tv, vcr, make-up station, a bathroom with a shower, desk, a phone, couch, pantry and fridge. Inside the trailers is where most of the cast members go for their interviews, between scenes of filming, or to practice lines and rehearse them. Sometimes they'll use their trailer to catch up on emails, fan mail or writing. One trailer is a set-up classroom where a tutor comes and gives out homework, presents work, goes through subjects and helps teach  the younger cast members so they keep up with other children in normal school. Also, the tvs inside each trailer have a special channel set to them that each cast member can use to watch whats going on, on the set. Therefore, each cast member can sit inside their little trailer and watch whats currently being filmed without even being on set.

For science class, a man they all call "Science Bob" brings his mobile science lab beside the trailers so they can still do their part in Biology and learn what they need to so they aren't behind every other student attending school. Around the soundstage, basically is a packed carpark full of cars, this is just telling you what the sets like in general. Although there are other parts of filming for this show that don't include the soundstage, for example: The Glenoak Community Church, on San Fernando Valley. The church scenes are filmed at a real church kind of like using a prop.

Matt & Eric (Barry Watson & Stephen Collins) use to have this little thing they did, where they called themselves "Bucky & The Rev", Bucky being Barry and ofcourse, The Rev being Stephen.  They'd  play out to be these silly made up weapon suppliers.  Jessica plays this gurl who gets killed all the time but keeps coming back. Lucy is this ditzy secretary, David plays the bad guy and Barry is the weapon supplier, they only do this in their free time during breaks and inbetween shoots.

Real House Used in Pilot Episode REAL HOUSE USED IN PILOT EPISODE:
This house is indeed a real house located in Altadena, California and is approximately two and half miles north of Pasadena's famed, Colorado Blvd. The resident of this house has allowed his house to be a prop or a house used for a character's home, quite a few times. Especially in 7th Heaven, whereas the resident has allowed the production crew of 7th Heaven to take severe exterior shots to use for outside scenes of the house. You may recognise this house from varied films or tv, such as: The Baby Sitters Club, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Risky Business, Can't Hardly Wait and in the tv show from 1997 called, The Great Mom Swap. If you remember, it was Shelley Fabares' house. To see a great photo of it, click here.

Glen Oak Community Church GLEN OAK COMMUNITY CHURCH:
This church used various times in the series is a real church situated in Studio City. This church is quite interesting actually, it's the 'First Christian Church' (Disciples Of Christ) in the area. The church has been used as a prop for the storyline of Eric Camden owning the profession of a revren minister for his community. During the shows episodes, the church is labelled as 'Glen Oak Community Church' and you would've seen it in various episodes throughout each season. When the cast film here, you could refer to it as an on location shoot day. To see a great photo of it, click here.

The Kraft Food Catering Set THE KRAFT FOOD CATERING SET:
Featured around several of the 7th Heaven cast member's trailers, there is a big variety of food within the Craft food catering stand that is featured on set of this show. Many cast members use it during line rehearsals and touch-ups on make-up. This has became a bigger stand each season and now it is so huge that Catherine Hicks seems to exaggerate within thinking that even looking at the food makes her hungry and fat.

Eddies Pool Hall EDDIES POOL HALL:
This place is fake, it is used on production only as a set-up for scenes. This place is where Mary got her first job, she used to work here untill she got fired from being on the phone too much and asking other waitresses for money. This place is an old past-time for the Camdens. As this is where all the kids go for their milkshakes, burgers, fries & socialism. It's where the whole family has always gone out for dinner or where the kids have always had their dates with Girlfriends/Boyfriends etc.

Dairy Shack DAIRY SHACK:
Whether this place is real is unknown at this stage. This is where Matt used to work untill he also got fired for bringing a delivery late to a customer. This is also where Mary got her slurpy slushy from in "Broke" when she has spent her last $20. This is also the place where Simon wanted to order from every night when Matt was working because Simon had always wanted to see what Matt does in his job & to see the silly hat Matt had to wear during work.

Roosevelt Elementary School ROOSEVELT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL:
This is a real school, based in Santa Monica, this famed Los Angeles elementary school was used in the first season as Ruthie Camden and Lynn Hamiltons elementary school, you can see scenes featuring this school in the first season episodes including 'See You In September' which was the first episode it was featured in on the 7th Heaven series. Gypsy Cafe THE GYPSY CAFE - KNOWN AS EQUATOR CAFE:
This is also a real cafe called The Equator Cafe based in Pasadena, LA, visit the official site by clicking here. This is where Annie and her college course teacher meet up for talks over their work and projects. This is also where Mary Camden sang two songs, 'respect' and 'a do right woman'. This place is a very classy cafe with expensive cuisine and french gourmets. This place is also right diagonly opposite Madisons Tavern in the promenade.

Margarets Book Store MARGARETS BOOK STORE:
This is where Mary got her job for only 2 hrs, when one of the shared owner's realised his partner had gave the position to someone else already as a counter lady. Mary was then disappointed when rang up and told she cannot have the position anymore because it's already taken by someone else. Even using the excuse that her mum loves Mary Tyler Moore and the shared owner does too still didn't help her with her ex-positioned job. This is also the place where Annie buys her college course books.

Madison's Tavern MADISON'S TAVERN:
This is a real place based in the centre promenade in Santa Monica. This is also the place where Matt met that Blonde Bomb Shell and got the ladies phone number. These scenes were filmed on-location in the 5th season of the show. You'll also see Annie and Eric coming out of the Equator Cafe (known as the Gypsy Cafe on the show, also where Mary Camden sang).

Pete's Pizza PETE'S PIZZA:
You'll all know this place. This is where Frankie & Johnny work, "Mary's not so smart-innocent friends" and also where Mary worked untill she also got fired for not associating with the right friends. This is also where Annie, Eric & Ruthie get their pizza ordered from when it is the "Pizza Movie Night". As far as we know, this place doesn't exist in real life however the building might.

Glen Oak Cinema GLEN OAK CINEMA:
Only about 5 to 10 metres west of the Dairy Shack This tall Cinema stands. This old style building, western made cinema with $5 dollar double-featured films are presented & aired, this place plays a big role between the Hamiltons & the Camdens. It is where they all use to go during family outings. The girls Lucy & Mary have made out with various boys, including Robbie & Rick. Also where Simon, Ruthie, Nigel & Ruthie's friend Keisha with Annie & Patricia (Mrs Hamilton) were when they caught Lucy & Latisha making out with some guys, when they were actually meant to go along by themselves or stay at home for a party.

Visiting the Set VISITING THE SET:
The best thing to do is get permission to be there or know someone already who works on the set or atleast has something to do with the production. If you don't know anyone then asking for permission is the best option I can suggest.
