1. Turn, Turn, Turn:
In the eleventh season premiere, Eric and Annie receive devastating news on the prognosis on Eric's health. Ruthie (Mackenzie Rosman does not appear in this episode) is away on a student exchange program in a foreign country for the time being. Lucy and Kevin continue to cope over the devastating loss of their twin boys as Lucy had miscarriage over the summer. Also, Martin (Tyler Hoechlin) returns back on the scene and is very protective of Sandy and the baby when she brings company home. When Sandy and Daniel arrive at her apartment Martin is very territorial among Sandy and baby Aaron and Daniel not being there. A confrontational Daniel admits to Martin that he was just a one night stand just for Sandy make Simon feel jealous, which leaves Martin at a loss. Sandy decides that she wants to join seminary school. Also, last season's cliffhanger on the paternity of Aaron is resolved by Sandy. Lastly, Simon (David Gallagher does not appear in this episode) is away at college.
2. Tonight's Specials Are...
Tension mounts in Kevin and Lucy's marriage as they continue to grieve over losing their babies. A hurt Lucy even blames Kevin in public in front of everyone at the church for miscarrying their boys. Lucy begins to disconnect more from the family as she's spending more time at the movies everyday alone at the promenade. Although, Lucy finds some solice with theatre usher, T-Bone, who she feels able to talk to about her feelings. Meanwhile, Annie consoles a distraught Kevin and tells him to talk to Lucy. When Kevin finds out what's been going on between Lucy and T-Bone he is less than thrilled. Meanwhile, Sam and David's third grade teacher, Ms. Margo flirts with Eric when dropping the boys off to school, which makes Eric very uncomfortable. Eric also finds out that Sam and David have been referring him as their "grandpa" instead of their father to their teacher.
3. A Pain in the Neck:
While Annie's helping Mary in New York with her new babies, Eric is holding down the Camden household alone. Eric decides to pull Sam and David out of school after their teacher Ms. Margo makes a pass at him. Meanwhile, Kevin tells Lucy that it's his brother Ben's birthday so she'll let him stay with them for a few days. And Eric learns some disturbing news about his own health while visiting someone in the hospital.
4. Don't Ax, Don't Tell:
Eric continues to hold down the Camden household as Annie is away in New York helping Mary with the new babies. Without Annie's approval, Eric decides to homeschool Sam and David after their teacher makes a pass at him. Meanwhile, Kevin and lucy begin to suspect Eric is not being truthful based on his odd behavior recently. Kevin goes to hospital to investigate on some clues while Lucy talks to her father over the matter.
5. The Replacements:
Annie finally comes home after helping Mary to find that Eric has taken in three homeless teenagers. Eric also decides to come clean with her about the secret he's been keeping. Sandy needs to decide between Martin and Daniel, the guy she's been seeing at school.
6. Broken Hearts and Promises:
After Eric gives the family a big scare and the paramedics are called to the house, Annie realizes Eric has been hiding the truth from her and she's determined to find out what it is. Meanwhile, Lucy pays a surprise visit to Sandy, who appears to be falling in love with her classmate, Daniel, while Martin continues to pursue her as well.
7. You Take the High Road:
Ruthie is in a state of panic when she learns that Eric and Annie are flying to Scotland with the intention of bringing her home. After agonizing over the decision, Kevin decides to tell Lucy about her father's heart condition. Meanwhile, Sandy figures the best way to get rid of her overjealous boyfriend is to accept Martin's marriage proposal, and Kevin discovers that Jane is hiding a big secret from the Camdens.
8. And I'll Take the Low Road:
After learning of her father's health prognosis, Ruthie reluctantly agrees to return home from Scotland with Eric and Annie. Sandy decides to call off plans to marry Martin after Mac questions why they are in such a rush. And, Lucy advises T-Bone to look into declaring emancipation from his mother if she is unfit to care for him.
9. Thanks and Giving:
When Ruthie makes an inappropriate comment at the airport on the way home from Scotland, airport security takes Eric, Annie and Ruthie in for questioning. Meanwhile, as a favor to his best friend Martin, Mac pays a visit to Sandy to find out whether she is still interested in Simon. Lucy does her best to stay positive about Eric's condition, while those around her are terrified of losing him. Finally, T-Bone, Jane and Margaret -- with lots of help from Sam and David -- plan a big welcome home for Eric.
10. You Don't Know What You've Got Til He's Gone:
After Eric's health scare, he begins to counsel a woman, Betsey, about being single and says rather harshly that she doesn't make an effort to meet men and cares more about her job than having a relationship, then she storms out unhappily. The same happens when he bluntly tells an overweight man named Phil to eat less and exercise more and that he eats so much because his wife humiliates him. Eric continues to speak bluntly and yell at other church members, yet they begin to come back and give him good news and their thanks for being honest and pushing them to do what they should be doing. A neighborhood lady named Evelyn hires an excited Margaret to babysit her young child. Ruthie is back from Scotland and talks with T-Bone in the hallway at school.
11. Christmas!:
The family gets nervous when Eric is late coming home, but Annie reassures them that everything will be okay. Eric is in heaven, but is he just visiting?
12. Can I Just Get Something to Eat:
Lucy and Kevin have a fight about the time Lucy has to spend on her family versus her work at the church. Eric tells her she can have her own desk in his office, so she goes out and buys a new desk, telling Kevin that the first step to getting her own office is getting her own desk and he wonders if the next step is her own church. Lucy says maybe. Sandy joins the class at church that Lucy is teaching and rather than concentrate on the crisis in Darfur that Lucy suggests, the girls all want to talk to Sandy about is her past with alcohol, drugs and sex.
13. Script Number Two Hundred Thirty-Four:
Eric and Lucy take the day off from church to go fishing, telling everyone they're going out of town on "official" church business, while both Annie and Kevin figure for different reasons behind their spouses' white lies, with Sandy taking over Lucy's teen class for the day. Ruthie, tired of being everyone not seeing her for the woman she is, decides to do something about it with T-Bone.
14. Deacon Blues:
Ruthie insists that T-Bone get his driver's license so they can go away for privacy, unfortunately, T-Bone makes the mistake of asking Kevin to help him get ready for the test. Lou informs a stunned Eric that the church deacons feel he and Lucy are no longer appealing to the younger church members, so it is suggested that Sandy deliver the next sermon. Mac gets a job at the movie theater so he can afford an apartment with Jane and Margaret.
15. Tit For Tat:
Sandy starts falling for someone else. Will Martin be able to handle this? Dr. Sanders seems to be quite the match for Martin, and even makes some moves on Sandy. T-Bone and Ruthie wanting to do something romantic for Valentine's Day, decide to get tattoos, to show their love for each other. The Colonel and Ruth drop by for a surprise visit on their family, making Eric suspect they know about his heart problems and wondering who told them. Lucy finds out her grandparents are in town so she and Kevin leave town, so she's not around in case they mention that she was one the told them about Eric.
16. Gimme That Ol' Time Religion:
Ruthie tries to hide her tattoo from her parents not realizing that they know something's up with her. Lucy knows about the tatto but decides not to say anything because she too has a tattoo. Some secrets are revealed about Matt, Mary and Simon also. To top it off, Annie and Eric know all the secrets!
17. Small Miracles:
When small things happen, some Camdens see them as signs. Lucy and Eric both cross paths with a black bird. They both come to the conclusion that this is a sign, and a bad one at that. Meanwhile, Ruthie gets a sign on her own. When she loses a diamond in the ring that T-Bone gave her as a promise to get engaged someday, she thinks that this is her sign that maybe being with T-Bone is not the best choice.
18. Inked:
New and unexpected things are coming for both Kevin and Lucy's way and Annie senses the possible changes to come. Eric decides to butt out of the lives of the people around him, a first, but still has concerns for T-Bone. Meanwhile, Martin and Jane end up sharing a romantic moment.
19. Some Break-Ups and Some Get-Togethers:
T-Bone confides to Mac that he is considering breaking up with Ruthie. Unfortunately, Mac takes matter into his own hands and sends a text message with the bad news to Ruthie, copying everyone in T-Bone's address book, including Eric and Annie . Lucy and Kevin disagree over whether it's in their best interest to accept the job offer in Crossroads. Margaret is furious with Mac when she discovers that he turned in her writing assignment as his own.
20. Nothing Says Lovin' Like Something From The Oven
With plans for a second baby, Kevin tells Lucy that moving their family to Crossroads might not be such a good idea for the time being. T-Bone confides to Eric that he's having second thoughts about breaking up with Ruthie, who is spending all of her free time lately with her former crush, Martin. Sandy's boyfriend, Jonathan surprises her with a marriage proposal, and T-Bone's estranged father shows up on the Camdens' doorstep.
21. Good News For Almost Everyone:
Suddenly during his sleep, Eric falls into a dream where his health has miraculously improved. With the help of this dream he decides to finally make an appointment with the doctor to find out the honest truth. With a all-day visit at the hospital with the family close-by, it's announced to Annie that Eric's heart is in well working order and everything else seems to be fine. The entire family are relieved to discover the news and are very happy that Eric eventually went to see the doctor.
22. And Away We Go:
Eric finds the Colonel has left behind a brand new RV for him and the family. After a visit from what Eric believes to be a guardian angel and the satisfaction of his clean bill of health, he thinks about taking the family off in it to see the rest of the country. Annie agrees with him that it would be a great thing to do. Meanwhile; after initially being taken aback by the momentous and sudden decision, Lucy and Kevin finally agree to go with the rest of the family on their planned adventure. Each member of the family, including the new additions, take their favorite items and neccessities with them, each speaking to Eric individually before boarding. The show's title is significantly printed across the front of the new RV.
This is the series finale of the entire show, after 11 full long years of working together, for the cast, this is their last time filming an episode together on this show.
